It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The time of year when holiday jingles can be heard during commercials, the Christmas lights and decor take over the local stores and when your children start telling you what they’d like beneath the tree on Christmas morning. If you know anything about me, you know that I am not a fan of too many toys. The toys that we do buy are usually not battery-operated, and require my kids to use their imaginations. I am also fond of toys that they can play with together. So when I had an opportunity to partner with Fisher-Price on their brand new Wonder Makers toys I was over the moon excited!
What are Wonder Makers Design Systems? Wonder Makers products are a new open-ended toy that allows your little ones to express their creativity, showcase their imagination, and interact through mixed-materials and modular play pieces. The characters are all wonderfully diverse and inclusive of all children, and they are all so beautifully designed on soft wooden pieces. I love watching the kids create their own worlds and Fisher-Price did an amazing job giving them the building blocks to create from the ground up. We have the Slide & Ride Schoolyard, Soft Slumber Campground and Build Around Town sets! My kids usually design one long road that takes their various cars, bicycles, tractors and more from one place to another! Open ended play is important! Products like Wonder Makers toys allow your children to learn more than you could ever imagine and helps stretch their cognitive skills! What is better than learning through play?
When we first opened the boxes, I was amazed at every thoughtful detail that the Wonder Makers toys include in each set. The different materials and textures, the way everything is simple to put together, the colors used – its every preschooler’s dream!
I love when my kids fall in love with toys that inspire them to use skills when they don’t even realize it! When they play together, they use team-work and learn to listen to each-other’s ideas for designing the town. When they use pieces for one design and find they are short on materials for another that they thought they had- they have to use creativity and problem solving to use other materials to make their vision come to life.
Most importantly, as a busy (pregnant) mom to three, when my children play nicely together, and quietly, it makes the days go so much sweeter! Wonder Makers toys are only available on Amazon- and really, what is better during the bitter cold, busy holiday season than your gifts arriving right to your door? These definitely made it onto our Amazon Wish List this year- Grey is really hoping for the Lift & Sort Recycling Center set!
