My Modern Farmhouse Nursery Dreams Came True with Pottery Barn Kids!

Moving into the farm house, I knew exactly the style I was wanting. I envisioned a cross between mid century modern, minimalist and farm house styles. Bright high walls, rich earth tones and pops of color that every nursery space should have!

I was so thrilled before we moved to have found a mid century modern dresser and night stand in great condition, I knew they would work perfectly in Wes’ modern farmhouse nursery! When it came to textiles, I wanted to add neutral colors and simple patterns because his bedding was the only place I was planning on adding any pattern. I knew I wanted to have pops of green in the form of beautiful plants. Incorporating plant that help purify the air was important to me because of the age of our home. I really love Bloomscape for the price, quality and selection! With all of the clean, modern lines in the nursery, I knew I wanted a big, solid, round mirror. Lastly, I dreamed of having a cozy little nook for rocking Wes to sleep and snuggling with all three kiddos and reading our favorite books.

Then an amazing thing happened! Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm came out with the most stunning collaboration! The Pottery Barn Kids x West Elm Collection is designed straight from my dreams, the rich acorn wood, the minimalist style, and the rich earth tones- y’all it is just incredible! I have always been a fan of Pottery Barn Kids, all of my children have had their nurseries decorated with the timeless styles they have carried over the years. But my style has evolved and this collaboration between these iconic brands is exactly what we were hoping for!

I instantly fell in love with the Honeycomb Quilt– the Horseradish color just gave me life and was a great item to design the room around! The nursery bedding is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton, which is actually the highest organic textile standard. Things like that are so important to me! From there, I knew I wanted to complete the crib with the Half Moon fitted crib sheet. I loved the balance between the gray tones and the rich color of the Horseradish.

We also snagged a few plush friends to scatter throughout the space. The Raccoon and Bear are always being moved to new hiding places around the nursery by the kids. Wes especially loves playing with their long legs!

Then just when I thought things couldn’t get any better- Pottery Barn Modern Baby happened! Remember that mirror I was dreaming about? The PB Modern Baby Black Metal Framed Mirror cane to the rescue and planted itself right above Wes’ Vintage Mid Century Modern dresser and it’s beyond perfect. As a photographer, I love having it across from the window to bounce even more natural light throughout his room.

To complete the space, I needed to create our cozy reading nook. Simple shelves house our favorite board books and a basket holds all of our snuggly blankets. To complete the nook we added a tall, rich green plant and the most beautiful print from PB Modern Baby. The sweetest monochrome rainbow Minted print by Mellani DeJesus. This is hands down my favorite cozy spot in the whole house so far!

We just love the way Wes’ Modern Farmhouse Nursery came out (with the help of PBK, of course!) and now have a million other project to complete! What rooms would you love to see next?

Here are a few more photos of the space!
