How to Maintain Healthy Eating Habits While Travelling with Toddlers

If you follow us on Instagram, then you already know that we’ve been on vacation for two weeks. What you may NOT know is that we still have two weeks left! Can you believe it? We’ll have been on vacation for over a month by the time we get home!

Many of you who know me, know I take so much pride in the foods I feed my family. My family’s health is very important to me. One question I often get from others is weather or not we eat as healthy while we are on vacation. I know you can all relate to being subjected to multiple fast food stops, the tempting sweets at the gas stations and the resort waffles screaming your name on the room service menu. I know road trips with toddlers can be difficult and those things seem like the easy way to go but it is possible to eat well while on the road! I’m excited to share with you, today, how we do that!

The day before we hit the road I head to the market. We have two large bags, one for drinks and other cold products, one for food. My travel grocery list typically consists of healthy and easy to grab foods like apples, bananas, raisins, baby carrots and nuts. Occasionally I will whip up pasta salads (without mayo or creamy bases) with any leftovers we have in the fridge for Jay and I to eat while on the drive. The kids eat so well that they will turn down food from almost ever fast food establishment- even Chick-fil-a which blows my mind! Who’s children are they?!

This last time I was doing my shopping I saw the new product from  Happy Family®- the HappyTot Super Morning Bowls. We have loved the Happy Family® since Ada was a baby and I was so excited to try these!

These new Happy Tot Super Morning Bowls introduce toddlers to a variety of  textures and foods that provide optimal nutrition as they grow. Best of all they are packed with ingredients like gluten-free oats, sprouted quinoa, and the superfood chia to give some added omega 3s! There is also zero added sugars! The only sweet flavor comes from organic fruit for a natural and delicious sweetness.

I knew these would be perfect for Grey while we are on the road! He loves a good breakfast. The best part is these can be eaten as is or gently warmed. A breakfast that is totally ready to go! This means in the car, at the hotel, by the pool, on the boat! At home it could be on the soccer field before an early morning game, in the drop off line while taking siblings to school, on the way to daycare. Are you sensing the theme? The NEW HappyTot Super Morning Bowls are SUPER. Period.

I mean, look at that smile, he clearly agrees!

You can save $1 on the new HappyTot Super Morning Bowls at your local Walmart by clicking here.

Now, back to vacation!
